ENGINEERING, DEVELOPMENT & RENEWABLE ENERGY

Energy North is a developer of large scale energy and digital infrastructure with end to end development capability, from early site selection through engineering definition and oversight of delivery.
The Energy North team draws on extensive experience across renewables, LNG, mining, non process infrastructure and remote developments in Australia, applying a disciplined, development led approach designed to ensure projects are well defined, appropriately sequenced and investment ready before capital is committed.

Engineering & Project Development

Energy North maintains control of the critical early phases that determine project success, including:
  • • Site selection and early stage feasibility
  • • FEL 1 and FEL 2 engineering coordination and management
  • • Regulatory approvals strategy and environmental pathways
  • • Traditional Owner and stakeholder engagement coordination
  • • FEED planning oversight and interface management
  • • Planning and delivery of projects in remote Northern Territory conditions
The team also has extensive experience navigating environmental and regulatory approvals for major projects, including Territory and Commonwealth assessment processes.
This capability is delivered through a combination of Energy North’s core development team and appointed specialist partners, operating under defined governance arrangements.

Engineering Partner — CHOVA

CHOVA is Energy North’s appointed Project Management Consultant (PMC), responsible for engineering oversight, procurement and construction management across flagship projects. As a specialist infrastructure delivery firm, CHOVA provides the independent technical rigour required to advance projects of this scale toward Financial Investment Decision.

Scope includes:
  • • Preparation of the full FEL 2 / Pre FEED engineering package for Project Ares
  • • PMC role for FEED, coordinating engineering definition and procurement strategy through to Financial Investment Decision
  • • Interface management across power generation, data centre and enabling infrastructure workstreams
  • • Oversight of EPCM activities, commissioning planning and project controls

Renewable Energy & Infrastructure Capability

Energy North applies a renewables first design philosophy, informed by practical delivery experience across large scale generation and infrastructure projects in remote environments.

Across its projects, the team has direct experience with:
  • • Utility scale solar and wind generation
  • • Battery energy storage systems
  • • Behind the meter, off grid power architectures
  • • High voltage electrical infrastructure and substations
  • • Integration of renewable generation with firming and availability requirements
These capabilities inform the design of Project Ares and Project Sol, where scale, reliability and remoteness intersect.

Remote Delivery, NPI & Accommodation Infrastructure

The team also has substantial experience delivering non process infrastructure (NPI) required to support large projects in remote locations, including:
  • • Workforce accommodation and construction villages
  • • Airstrips, access roads and internal road networks
  • • Borefields, water, wastewater and utilities infrastructure
  • • Warehouses, workshops, laydown and logistics facilities
  • • Operations, administration and camp support services
This experience underpins the planning and delivery of enabling infrastructure at Murranji Station, supporting both construction and long term operations.

FEL 2 Engineering Progress

Both Project Ares and Project Sol have completed FEL 2 (Pre FEED) engineering, providing a defined technical and regulatory basis for progression into FEED.

At a high level, FEL 2 confirms:
  • • Site suitability and access
  • • Conceptual energy and infrastructure architecture
  • • Technology selection and design philosophy
  • • Capital cost maturity consistent with institutional expectations
  • • Defined regulatory and approvals pathways
Detailed technical documentation is available to qualifying counterparties under confidentiality arrangements.

A Disciplined Development Framework

Energy North applies the Front End Loading (FEL) framework to progressively de risk projects prior to Final Investment Decision:
  • • FEL 1 (Concept): establishes project fundamentals and early feasibility
  • FEL 2 (Pre FEED): confirms design basis, approvals pathways and investment readiness
  • • FEL 3 (FEED): delivers construction ready engineering to support FID
This structured approach is intended to give investors, customers, governments and suppliers confidence that Energy North’s projects are technically sound, appropriately governed and deliverable.
